CHAPTER 15 - TEXT EXCERPT

I drove into Yosemite National Park and hiked to the top of Sentinel Dome. There I sat, high above the noise, surrounded by an unbroken circular view of the entire park, contemplating my future. Amidst ancient natural temples – El Capitan, Half Dome, Yosemite Falls, and Cloud’s Rest – my mind began racing, imagining a new and ambitious path forward.  

I could build my own company. I could focus on world class original music for video games. I would seek the highest profile games, the most intelligent and creative designers, the biggest budgets, and the most talented collaborators. All of these would become my targets.   

For a person who had just lost their job, the idea was oversized and absurdly arrogant. Like Yosemite itself, it was audacious, enormous, aspirational, HUGE...
